For years, Josh Buck brushed off the signs. Saying “what?” or “huh?” became second nature. He’d nod along in conversations even when he hadn’t heard the answer—hoping it would be enough to get by.
But it wasn’t.
“I was always saying what or huh, or trying to get into a conversation that I should have been able to hear clearly… I was doing that a lot,” Josh recalls.
Like many, he didn’t think it was that bad. His wife had been encouraging him for four years to get his hearing checked, but life got in the way. “I just kept putting it off and putting it off and putting it off.”
Until one week, it became too much.
“After about a week of me saying what, huh? a lot—I decided to come in on my own and surprised my wife.”
That appointment changed everything.
🎧 “It’s Been the Best Thing I’ve Ever Done.”
From the moment Josh was fitted with hearing aids at Timpanogos Hearing & Tinnitus, the world shifted.
“I cannot believe the difference in the ability to hear clearly and to understand words that I thought people were mumbling. It was just my hearing.”
Suddenly, sounds that once slipped by came into sharp focus—voices, conversations, even his son’s voice.
“Like, my son's voice was really hard to pick up. And now I pick it up clearly.”
But perhaps even more powerful than the sounds was the confidence that came with them.
“It is amazing, the difference you will feel—not only about your own confidence in the conversation with someone, but the ability to pick up words you were missing out on before.”
